Overview: Macy's, Inc. is seeking qualified candidates for the Capital Analyst position in its Capital Planning department located in Cincinnati, Ohio. Key Accountabilities: - Review capital requests submitted through the CSTAR database.
- Provide initial review for all requests, partnering with various functional groups to gather appropriate detail.
- Prepare write-ups for senior management to review when required based on project scope.
- Utilize the Timberline system in order to assist in creating purchase orders for approved requests, on an as-needed basis.
- Maintain the capital budget file by entering projects as they are approved, providing accurate tracking and forecasting.
- Assist in compiling budget submissions from functional areas during planning cycle.
- Run and evaluate exception reporting for CSTAR. Report any database inconsistencies to manager with initial resolution recommendations.
- Monitor and respond to CSTAR support emails, documenting general FAQ's based on user inquiries. Help to maintain general CSTAR related documentation.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis as assigned, which may include post-project, cash flow, major projects, etc.
- Produce insightful explanation of findings and provide related commentary and/or suggestions.
Skills Summary: - Bachelor's Degree in a business related field is required. Finance, Accounting or related majors are preferred.
- Must possess strong spreadsheet proficiency.
- Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must be detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels, including senior level management.
- Must be able to work independently and be capable of meeting demanding deadlines.
- Must be a team player, with the ability to interact well within the department and with regional personnel.
