External Description: SUMMARY STATEMENT: The Staff Pharmacist fills all medication orders to all inpatient and outpatient areas and ensures the prompt and accurate delivery of medications to patient. Physician orders and patient medication profiles are reviewed, processed, and checked. The Staff Pharmacist shall provide pharmaceutical and poison information to the medical staff, hospital staff, and the public. Performs special assignments as directed by the Director of Pharmacy. A Staff Pharmacist shall be responsible for recommending changes in a patient's drug therapy and capable in interpreting and evaluating physician orders for the most cost effective, appropriate therapy.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
Licensure/Certification: Licensed to practice as a Pharmacist within the State of Washington.
Experience: One year recent experience in hospital pharmacy practice preferred.
Equipment/Skills: Computer systems, telephones, copying machines, printers, vertical and horizontal laminar flow hoods, prescription balance. Typing 30 WPM. Computer skills.
