Sr Software Engineer II
Job Description: Candidate uses and applies moderate technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques asociated with C and C++ development for embedded multiprocessor systems. Provides solutions to technical software problems using ingenuity and creation as a self starter and can follow department processes and procedures. Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgement and provides guidance to junior staff. Guides the successful completion of minor programs and may function in a minor project leadership role. Interacts with senior software personnel through both written and verbal communication. Has working knowledge of emerging software technologies. Produces documentation related to the design and release of software artifacts.
Required Skills: 6-8 years experience required. Must have practical experience using C/C++ language; a minimum of 6 years in an embedded setting. Experience in the following: software development within a DoD environment, knowledge of embedded real-time operating systems (VxWorks, PSoS, Integrity), ability to work with OOA/OOD and UML CASE tools. Candidate must be acquainted with CMM/CMMI practices. Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
Desired Skills: Experience using MDSD tools such as Rhapsody and/or Pathmate. Knowledge of Missile Guidance, Navigation, and Discrimination systems and associated algorithms is highly desired. Knowledge of radar based missile systems. Holding a current Secret clearance is a plus. Integration experience and test is a plus. Assembly language experience is a plus.
Required Education(including Major): Minimum Degree: B.S.; M.S. desired but not required.
Majors: Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, Mathematics.
