Assistant Director of Career Services
Kaplan College -- Bakersfield Campus has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Director of Career Services.
The Assistant Director of Career Services will identify and secure employment opportunities for our graduates.
Overview:
This position will identify employers' needs; develop job opportunities and extern sites. This position will work extensively with community employers and will be working primarily off campus. Extended duties may include assisting students with externships, job search strategies, and job placement. The Assistant Director of Career Services must have excellent communication and public relations skills, be organized, able to work independently and manage time well. Requires extensive local travel.
Duties
· Develops and maintains a strong working relationship with potential employers to ensure they consider a KHEC graduate for employment opportunities.
· Provide career services staff with job leads.
· Responsible for achieving monthly employer site goals.
· Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with local, state and federal employment agencies.
· Identify employer needs to ensure quality of placements.
· Represent the school to local employers through attendance at association and community meetings.
· Maintain an accurate data base of employers.
· Generate accurate reports on employers, appointments, contacts, and jobs developed.
· Attend weekly accountability meetings, preparing a weekly report of activity.
· Assists with planning employer career days and advisory board meetings.
· Assess market needs to develop new job sites.
· Responsible for own professional development, including attendance at school development meetings and workshops.
· Evening hours as assigned.
· Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
· Bachelor's Degree in Education or Business or related discipline.
· Minimum of two years of job placement experience in either a Career School or Temp Agency or a combination.
