Special Assets Officer:

Job Duties

· Responsible for workout loans and OREO in the Bank and its affiliates.

· Manage portfolio of adversely graded loans to minimize loss exposure and improve documentation or collateral weakness to maximize collection of principal and interest in a timely manner.

· Periodically review loan portfolio for adequacy of credit and collateral documentation, regulatory compliance, and loan policy conformance.

· Prepare appropriate reports for the Board of Directors as needed and assist in the quarterly analysis of the adequacy of the allowance for loan and lease losses.

· Assist Loan Officers through ongoing discussions of potential and existing credits, including pre-flights, loan structuring questions and problem resolution and prevention.

· Assist in the development of manuals and supporting documentation to accomplish tasks/duties inherent in this position.

Requirements

· Minimum 5 years of banking experience in commercial/real estate lending

· Previous experience in problem loan handling and workout loans

· In-depth knowledge of bank lending regulations and compliance standards;

· Proven ability to work independently and provide recommendations based on sound research;

· High degree of initiative and a self-starter
