Sr. Industrial Engineer
Description
PURPOSE
Identify and lead value improvement and waste elimination projects that drive plant and company performance improvement while promoting the development and advancement of the lean culture within the plant. Support local implementation, training and support of Global lean, and LBP Essentials.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Drive Lean Manufacturing waste reduction techniques (5-S, Kaizen, Continuous Flow, Lead Time Reduction, SMED, Visual Management, Kanban) to reduce or minimize non-value added activity.
Develop and maintain labor standards using predetermined time systems as well as stopwatch studies. Must be able to operate effectively in a team environment with heavy emphasis on working well with production floor personnel to identify and implement improvements.
This position requires the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of plant personnel.
Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement that supports BSC’s Quality Policy, Quality System, and the appropriate regulations for the area they support. Ensure employees are trained to do their work and their training is documented.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coach, mentor and/or lead teams on lean manufacturing initiatives, layout, 5S and Value Stream Mapping.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: To be considered for this position you must have the following qualifications:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and/or SKILLS
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related discipline and 5+ years experience of lean implementation in a
manufacturing environment.
Participation or leadership experience in 5-S, kaizen, SMED, kaizen and other forms of Lean activites.
Familiar with kanban, one-piece flow, standardization and visual management. Experience in determining work
content and developing labor standards in a manufacturing environment using stopwatch time study techniques
required.
PREFERRED: The following are qualifications that we would prefer candidates to have.
Experience with a predetermined time systems, Microsoft Visio and Simulations software a plus.
