Management Training – Infantryman

And that’s just the beginning. As an Infantryman, you will be prepared to defend this country against whatever challenges it faces, be it disasters in peacetime or during combat operations. You will be the backbone of the Guard, a leader, and an integral member of a team that employs advanced weapons and tactics in support of offensive and defensive combat missions.

As a Soldier in the Army National Guard, you join an elite group of warriors who train part-time to be ready full-time, should their State or Nation call them to serve. The Guard is the oldest branch of the military and its members have a long and noble history of serving at home and abroad to ensure the safety and freedom of their fellow citizens.

Major duties

  • Assists in the performance of reconnaissance operations
  • Employs, fires, and recovers anti-personnel and anti-tank mines
  • Operates, mounts/dismounts and zeros weapon systems under various conditions including engaging targets using night vision sights
  • Operates and maintains communications equipment, and operates in a radio net
  • Performs as a member of a fire team during training and combat missions
  • Processes prisoners of war and captured documents

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (If you do not have a diploma or GED, you may still apply – ask a recruiter about how the Army National Guard can help you earn your GED)
  • Must be male – this job is not open to women
  • Must be between the ages of 17 and 42
  • Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards
  • Must be able to lift very heavy objects
  • Must have normal color vision
  • Must have correctable vision of at least 20/20 in one eye and 20/100 in the other eye
