Transport Planner: Tangent International

We are urgently looking for a Transport Planner to work with one of our biggest clients in Allentown, PA.

Candidate must have past optimization experience with wireless carriers in North America. Strong possibilities for extension of the project.

• Understanding of 2.5G and 3G network architecture (preferably GSM/UMTS) and understanding of voice and data traffic
• Understanding of the digital hierarchy
• Experience designing leased SONET rings for the different elements involved
• Ability interpret FCC Tariffs
• Ability to interpret Design Layout Records (DLR) Able to plug in access/tansport product solutions
• General knowledge of Traffic Engineering
• Advanced experience with MS Excel, LATTIS Pro and MAPINFO software
• Experience designing OC12, OC3, STS1, DS3, & DS1 level circuits for carriers transport networks
• Experience in dealing with LEC/IXC regarding billing and facility migrations
• Proficient in using LEC portal to retrieve necessary billing data
• Experiencing planning and implementing SONET ring migrations
• Experience in performing T1 optimization
• Understanding of Transport Network Terminology
• Experience using Granite (Xng)
• Creating power point presentations ¡V Responsibilities
• Responsible for the overall Transport plan and Traffic analysis. This includes capacity analysis, ring design (loading) and T1 hubbing analysis
• Performing transport optimization for Access, backhaul and PSTN network
• Developing Transport plans for new DS1, DS3, SONET rings and potential migrations of existing circuits
• Performing billing audits of carriers circuits (DS1, DS3 and OCn) and comparing them to signed contracts by the carrier
• Identifying fiber providers and new hubs that will improve transport OPEX for the carrier
• Being able to interpret traffic reports from carrier¡¦s switch
• Interfacing with Ericsson and carrier operations and planning teams.
• Interfacing with DCS planner to obtain all ATM/DCS data
• Interfacing with T-Mobile FSC regarding SS7, E911, 802.11, COS, ATM design issues
• Interfacing with Carriers Transport group on Transport design issues
• Responsible for the accuracy of all carrier issued work orders (DS3 orders, DS3 disconnect, T1 migrations etc). Assigning all relevant task as well as adhoc task.
• Creating market/region level optimization implementation plans

The project is due to start immediately and will initially be 3-4 months.
