POSITION SUMMARY: Establish overall direction and strategy of the IT Department to support the continuous information system needs. Responsible for the overall planning, organizing, and execution of all IT functions. This includes directing all IT operations to meet internal and external customer requirements as well as the support and maintenance of existing applications and development of new technical solutions. EXPERIENCE IN THE RETAIL INDUSTRY AND KNOWLEDGE OF POS SYSTEMS REQUIRED. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Leads IT team in the development of IS strategy with responsibility for software development, many users, and elections to meet the needs of the company. • Responsible for managing, planning, and selecting of new software and implementation of new and existing software releases. • Ensures the optimum use of corporate computers, programs and related peripherals. • Budgeting, Forecasting and Management Reporting • Oversees the management of the corporate help desk. OTHER RESPONSIBILITES & REQUIREMENTS: · Maintains confidentiality. · Demonstrates capacity for organization, prioritization, and management in a dynamically changing environment. · Writes and speaks clearly and concisely. Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences. · Demonstrates enthusiasm and commitment toward the job and mission of the Company. · Creates and maintains effective employee, vendor, and client relationships by providing timely and accurate responses, along with service-oriented offers of assistance. Ensures that messages are transmitted to appropriate personnel quickly and accurately. · Carries out written communication in a professional manner and according to accepted business practices. Uses courteous language and positive tone in all communications to reflect the company's service-oriented philosophy. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: • Experience with managing IT support staff and resources • Bachelor’s degree in Technology related field or 6+ years experience managing a multi-faceted computer/telecommunications department. • 3+ years programming experience in a retail industry programming environment. • Experience with Microsoft Network Engineering, Exchange Server, data warehousing, digital telephone switches. • Skill in mastering the application of new technology and researching new methods of operation. • Computer Proficiency. Expert knowledge of MS Office Suite.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
In addition to supervising the IT team, when serving as a project leader, may supervise systems analyst, programmers, and other data processing staff. Instructs in methods and procedures, and may assign project tasks and establish priorities. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT: An employee must meet the essential physical requirements to accommodate the functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to lift products up to 50 lbs. without the use of a lifting device.
