Business Development Consultant-Managed Care

About the Job

Golden Living, one of the nation's premier providers of post-acute healthcare services, has an exceptional career opportunity for a proven leader in our industry. In this position you will be responsible for the generation of new business through the development of regional accounts and partnerships, as well as providing leadership in the development, management and utilization of managed care contracts.

As the New Business Development Consultant you will:

* Be responsible for managed care insurance business development by developing business relationships with managed care plans, with the goal of building insurance census and increasing insurance revenue.

* Coordinate and work with operations, marketing, accounting, treasury and other key departments to build, maintain and grow insurance census and revenue.

* Provide data, analysis and recommendations regarding market trends, competitive activity and growth opportunities within assigned region.

* Make sales calls to medical, insurance and government organizations as well as senior organizations, appropriate special interest groups other community contacts. Develop and maintain a Book of Business.

* Utilize Company sales practices and sales tracking tools.

* Develop and implement a market development strategy based upon regional opportunities.

* Work with sales, contracting and operations, on approval of new contracts and rates, updated/revised rates, or termination of existing contracts due to rates or administrative issues.

* In collaboration with operations, and sales, research and develop a strategy to establish and/or increase insurance business with key managed care plans in the service areas of our Living Centers.

* Provide education regarding managed care plans, contract terms and conditions, billing and collection to corporate staff, field staff, and support personnel through in-services, attendance at meetings, taking field staff to meetings and assisting with contracts.

* Initiate partnerships with other local providers and groups to increase the company profile and bolster the referral base.

* Create opportunities for operator involvement and leadership of regional business relationships.

* Initiates customer contact / visits with existing and prospective customers, acts as the lead when presenting products / services to existing or prospective customers.

Job Requirements:

Successful applicants for this position will have a Bachelors degree or 5 years commensurate experience, 5 Years sales and marketing and business development experience, 5 years managed care business development experience, and 5 years healthcare related experience.

You must be able to travel to territories within your assigned region which will require overnight travel up to 30% of the time. This position will require that you have experience and knowledge of the local market's in the Minneapolis or St. Paul metro areas.

Other requirements include strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to present ideas in a professional manner and you must be able to maintain confidentiality regarding patient and company proprietary information.
