- Qualified candidates will be responsible for the design and development of real-time embedded software for advanced radio communications equipment.
- In a team environment, design and develop software components required to implement features and capabilities for software defined radios.
- Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle (requirements analysis, high level design, detailed design, coding, unit test, integration, system level test).
- Prepare work estimates, schedule inputs and metric data to project management.
- Consult with other cross-functional engineering staff (electrical, mechanical, systems) to evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, and operational performance requirements of the overall system.
- Develop and direct software system testing procedures, programming and documentation.
- Provide technical leadership for the team and act as a mentor for junior developers.
- Interface with both internal and external customers.
- Operates independently with minimal direction from technical leads.
Qualifications:
- BS in Computer Science
- Minimum 8 years experience
- Minimum of 1 year project lead/management experience
- 3+ years with C/C++ programming language and Object-Oriented Design (OOD) is required.
- 3+ years with multi-threaded design and/or real-time operating systems is required.
- 3+ years experience with XML, ORBexpress CORBA, and SCA, is required.
- 3+ years experience with QNX, Linux and Unix operating systems is required.
- 3+ years experience with SPI, I2C, RS-232, and RS-485 interfaces is required.
- 3+ years experience with Freescale ARM and TI DSP is required.
- 3+ years experience working closely with digital, RF, and test engineers is required.
- 3+ years experience with Ku/KA Band VSAT, Type 1 and Type 3 encryption methods, and passive surveillance sensors is required.
