Overview: The Associate Creative Director is responsible for producing the creative imagery and copy of Home catalogs, storewide catalogs, special projects, and all ROP (newspaper and magazine). In addition, this person will collaborate and deliver creative that defines and characterizes the Bloomingdale's brand. The Associate Creative Director will pro-actively partner with the merchant organization to fulfill the needs of the business while educating and providing innovation to drive the company's brand strategy initiatives. Key Accountabilities: - Parnter with Bloomingdale's Creative Director to translate the brand vision and creative platform to internal teams. Inspire external and internal teams to develop impactful creative ideas and executions that deliver to the brand vision/support the creative platform
- Collaborate with Creative Director of external agency to evolve the brand voice and identity
- Provide seasonal creative inspiration and drive brand creative integration across all media
- Review and approve all creative ideas/concepts for assigned channels before presentation to Sr.VP Creative Director
- Partner with cross-functional leads of store visual/design and buying group to deliver marketing programs and collaborate on areas that involve brand standards
- Manage and direct internal and external teams to ensure strategic and creative objectives are understood and consistently met
- Enforce and shepherd brand standards/guidelines
- Deliver exceptional creative in all vehicles, on time and integrated with seasonal briefs
- ACD should provide staff with reviews to set goals for individuals
- Film and video opportunities
- When necessary, ACD should be able to help out with either art directors and/or copywriting in a hands-on capacity
- ACD will review in-house and freelance resources to help keep an efficient, high-end creative atmosphere
- Ability to develop creative briefs and creative presentations
- Act as a catalyst for creative thinking and non-traditional solutions within the Bloomingdales creative department
- Direct and pull resource material for concepts and mood boards
- Pre-press supervision of photography to ensure color fidelity, and proper retouching and typographic placement throughout the proofing stages
- Supervision of the printing process and organization of high-level talent and resources to meet established budgets
- Negotiate, manage and control the outsourced catalog projects
Skill Summary: - At least 8 years senior level experience as a graphic designer or art director in fashion, retail and/or advertising environment.
- 2-3 years experience managing teams.
- 3-5 years experience working with agency creative teams.
- Strong sense of typography and design essential.
- Photo art direction experience with a strong emphasis on home category photography.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail with an ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
- Strong multitasking abilities, highly flexible.
- Monthly travel (e.g. Photo shoots, product review).
- Understanding of the home furnishings industry on the designer level.
- Ability to maintain a high standard of design and productivity in a fast paced work environment.
- High proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe In Design, Final edit suite pro.
- BA Graphic Design or related field.
- Knowledge of current retail trends and competition.
