POSITION TITLE: QA Investigator
LOCATION: Winston-Salem , NC
REPORTS TO: Vice President, Quality Assurance Manager
GROUP/DEPT: Audit
STATEMENT OF POSITION:
Audit early payment default loans to investigate the cause of the default to include the authenticity of the documentation relied on, compliance to underwriting standards and guidelines to insure that company master policyholder personnel, and related parties, have followed the appropriate policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
Organize and manage the processing of EPD files through the standard audit procedure. Review and analyze each file for the cause of the default, compliance with underwriting standards, the existence of fraud. This to include the analysis of credit reports, appraisals, review appraisals, reverifications, financial analysis of personal and corporate tax returns and other financial information. Review and analysis of audit findings as they relate to the Master Policy, to loan programs and the credit standards allowed and the communication of findings to audit management.
NONESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSTION:
Assist other employees of the Audit Department as assigned by the Audit Manager.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of underwriting, mortgage insurance, understanding of the risk associated with mortgage lending and written communication skills.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
A High School Diploma is required for this position. Minimum 4 years experience in mortgage lending, three years underwriting.
SKILLS & TRAINING:
Basic computer skills
KNOWLEDGE:
Mortgage Loan Underwriting, Fraud Investigation, Mortgage Insurance.
CHARACTERISTICS:
Organizational skills; ability to analyze complex mortgage transactions, credit reports and appraisals.
