Point of Sale (POS) Application Developer—C++ and J2EE

LOCATION: Bentonville, AR (Sorry no telecommuting or relocation reimbursement)

TYPE: W2 only (please no C2C or 1099)

DURATION: 3+ months with possible renewal for 2nd quarter 2010

DESCRIPTION:

The Point of Sale Innovation Developer will provide expertise in the design, development, configuration, installation and administration of Point of Sale applications. This will be done in a 4690 OS, Win NT environment:

• Will provide expertise for client and internal client resources to provide hands on support to these applications.

• Will provide on-call 24x7 to client support as necessary.

• Will support stores through remedy

• Provide assistance with POS programming and related areas for Stores.

• Provide assistance with package testing during development and pre-and post-release.

• Provide support for program defects or bugs in existing POS applications.

• Provide assistance with program enhancements to the existing POS applications.

• Analyze root cause of dumps occurring in production and or the lab environment

• Research defects reported in production and or the lab environment

• Code fixes to defects

REQUIREMENTS:

MUST have POS experience

Minimum of 7-8 years Programming experience in C++ on Unix or Linux

Minimum of 3 years of J2EE

OS with Unix, Linux, or AIX

Good Knowledge of SDLC

Proficient in Clear Case / Clear Quest

Strong Application Design skills along with a desire to work on existing problems, as opposed to pure development work

In additional to technical skills, the desired candidate will be energetic, confident, maintain a positive attitude, and possess the ability to handle stress during technical-conflicts

Must have a sense of urgency and be a strong solution provider with good solution management skills (not Project Management)

**This position is available on a W-2 basis only; no 1099 or Corp to Corp.**
