    Store Supervisor

    Job Description:

    • Operating a superior customer oriented, efficient, cost-controlled, well-merchandised, and profitable bookstore that best serves the academic community and Barnes & Noble College Booksellers, Inc.
    • Candidates must demonstrate exceptional customer service, communication, leadership skills and the ability to motivate staff.
    • Prior retail experience and computer skills are essential.

    Responsibilities:

    • Maintains company merchandising standards; fully participates in general merchandising programs
    • Maintains positive relationships with clients
    • Recruiting, hiring, evaluating, training and developing store personnel
    • Supervising and overseeing the buying, merchandising and inventory control of all non-book merchandise (including school spirit apparel, gifts and school supplies)
    • Developing financial goals and monitoring results in areas of sales and inventory
    • Maintaining a clean, functional, visually appealing working environment

    Qualifications:

    • College degree preferred 1+ years retail management and customer service experience
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends
