The American Society of Clinical Oncology, home to over 27,000 cancer doctors and researchers worldwide, is seeking a qualified Paralegal to work with the Vice President and General Counsel and Associate Counsels and various ASCO committees, and provide support on compliance and conflict of interest policies. With goals of improving cancer care and prevention and ensuring that all patients with cancer receive care of the highest quality, ASCO offers an exciting and progressive work environment that is both meaningful and fast paced.
Contribute your skills and credentials to the ASCO mission in these areas:
  • Prepare, submit and track filings with regulatory agencies
  • Prepare and process simple contracts and amendments; draft correspondence; handle document production for litigation
  • Administer parts of and provide support on conflict of interest and compliance policies
  • Establish and maintain files, reports, databases, and procedures on variety of Executive Office matters
  • Perform legal and non-legal research, including conducting surveys of policies, tracking legislative and regulatory activity
  • Draft memos, reports, and articles
  • Coordinate with staff and volunteers of committees including drafting papers, meeting materials, and minutes, and provide support at committee meetings
To be successful you will need:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • An independent and dedicated work style
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft suite of products and experience conducting legal research using Lexis database
  • Strong time management and organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Two or more yearsof experience, preferably in a legal, policy, clinical, or academic setting related to the field of health or science
  • Strong written and oral communication and teamwork skills
