JOB DESCRIPTION:
LOCATION WILL BE IN SALISBURY NC

A Clinical Nurse Specialists Number One Job responsibility is to deliver the most remarkable patient experience, in every dimension, every time, and understand how he or she contributes to the health system‹s vision of achieving that commitment to patients and families. A Clinical Nurse Specialist is an advanced practice RN who promotes nursing care of select patient populations through direct and indirect patient/family contact, collaboration with the health team, consultation, education, and research. Clinical Leadership and Teamwork. Staff Development Activities. Orientation.

The following qualifications are the minimum necessary to adequately perform this job. However, any equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities would be acceptable, subject to any legal and/or regulatory requirements. Graduate of NLN accredited School of Nursing, Masters degree in Nursing with evidence of a series of courses that reflect clinical specialty. Current licensure as an RN in North Carolina. Minimum of four years of clinical practice in area of specialization within previous six years. Previous CNS experience preferred. Knowledge, skills and abilities required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Medium Work - Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects, including the human body, weighing 21 to 50 pounds occasionally, and/or 11 to 20 pounds frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds constantly. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work. Internal Posting Date; 11/6/09-11/11/09

WORK SCHEDULE:
Full time primarily days, but schedule will vary to meet the educational needs of the units, departments the position supports
