Functional Description:
Responsible for the entire development lifecycle of report capabilities required for the contract.
Education and Typical Years Experience
These will be specialized people who understand a toolset not expected to be as common in the region. While not in a leadership role, the ability to interact to develop specifications and be the onsite ongoing support staff for the adhoc function requires excellent communication skill and ability to interact with a co-located client.
Job Requirements:
o 5-8 years of Cognos BI with 1-3 years experience in Cognos 8.x version
o 3-5 years of experience with leading BI development teams
o Experience with Cognos Framework Manager, Report Studio, Metric Studio, PowerPlay, PowerPlay Transformer and Analysis Studio
o Experience with creating Cognos cubes and PowerPlay reports
o 3-5 years of Oracle experience with ability to develop complex SQL Queries
o 1-3 years of BI Architect experience involving Data Modeling including multi-dimensional modeling
o Engineer Cognos Framework Manager packages along with creating and maintaining packages
o Good written and verbal communication skills
o Ability to transform business requirements into reports, dashboard and other BI components
o Experience in planning, estimating and leading development teams and co-ordinate onshore and offshore activities
o Train junior developers to develop packages and reports
o Experience with design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and dashboard, analytics and KPI
o Experience with integrating Cognos 8 BI and Metrics Manager
o Analyze Cognos new releases and provide recommendation for upgrades
o Ability to focus on priorities, work with various offshore/onshore teams and meet
deadlines and provide regular status report to development manager
o Ability to adjust to onshore and offshore time zones
o Administer multi-tier Cognos 8 environnements
o Responsible for developing, implementing Analytics and Reports with multiple report pages, prompts, calculations, nested queries, nested objects, and variables working with applications and data
o Effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure business environment to meet tight deadlines
o Perform detailed analysis of organization’s current PowerCubes and BI requirements
o Develop detailed architecture documentation and make recommendations to senior management addressing BI requirements utilizing presentation tools

o Experience with Business Objects XI
o Experience with Cognos Administration
o Experience with Crystal Enterprise
o Knowledge on Medicaid System
