PROGRAMMER ANALYST SPECIALIST (MEDICAL IMAGING)

Job Description

Position Profile
Senior member of the Information Services team, providing experience, knowledge and leadership to the enterprise-wide maintenance and enhancement of clinical and or financial applications. Communicates directly with, and provides input to, management. Provides leadership, analysis, design, trouble-shooting, testing, implementation and routine job support, as required. Leads and/or provides application expertise to individuals as well for input to various committees and projects, and other members of the Medical Imaging Team. Works with end-users on process improvement. When applicable, coordinates and directs activities of, and/or provides support for, consultants, contractors, and other I/S resources. Performs other tasks as assigned. Ensures attainment of organizational goals by effectively planning and coordinating projects with internal as well as external customers, and ensures that all activities are performed at a level of quality consistent with departmental standards. Acts independently to achieve these objectives while remaining ensuring adequate management and end-user input. Conducts assigned duties in a manner to provide integrity, security/confidentiality, and availability of Scripps data. Fulfills other tasks and duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications (required)
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Information Services environment.

Minimum Qualifications (required)
Minimum 7 years experience supporting and enhancing a large complex clinical application. Minimum two years in a healthcare environment in a key role.

Ability to work individually and with a team; ability to create and meet deadlines; ability to deal with multiple high priority issues simultaneously; group facilitation skills necessary

Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, training and/or presentation skills necessary

Experience documenting an application and test procedures.
Competency in Word / Excel / PowerPoint / Access / Outlook
Management or leadership role experience a plus.

Preferred Qualifications
STRONGLY PREFERRED: Radiology Management System (RIS), Picture Archive System (PACS), Voice Recognition System (VR) and HL7 interface, knowledge, maintenance and enhancement experience. Knowledge of specific application support and enhancement preferred.
