Religious Studies - Visiting Lecturer/Instructor

GEORGIA STATE UNIVERSITY, College of Arts & Sciences, invites applications for full and half-time Visiting Instructor and Visiting Lecturer positions for the 2008-2009 academic year, effective Fall 2008 semester. Positions are contingent upon budgetary approval and most offer the possibility of summer employment. An offer of employment will be conditional upon background verification. RELIGIOUS STUDIES

Visiting Lecturer or Visiting Instructor (half-time, non tenure track). The successful candidate will teach two courses per semester from among Introduction to Religion, World Religions, New Religious Movements, and courses within his or her specialty. Applicants must hold the Ph.D. or equivalent degree (to be hired as Visiting Lecturer) or the Masters or equivalent degree (to be hired as Visiting Instructor). Candidates should send a letter of application (specifying position applied for), curriculum vitae, evidence of teaching effectiveness, copy of graduate transcript, and three letters of recommendation to Ellen Logan at elogan@gsu.edu; or, by post, to Visiting Search Committee, c/o Religious Studies, Georgia State University, Box 4089, Atlanta GA 30302-4089. Review of applications will begin April 15, 2008, and continue until the position is filled.
