POSITION
Perm Need- Inpatient Lead Coder

Job Description:

Kforce is seeking a strong talented Inpatient Coder for a Lead coding position that is available near Kingman, Arizona. Join our Kforce team working within our client's Medical Records department as a strong member of their coding team. Under moderate supervision, you will primarily be responsible for reviewing and the analysis of inpatient, outpatient. Based on official coding guidelines, you will apply ICD-9-CM diagnosis and procedure codes to render appropriate reimbursement and meet regulatory coding requirements for their services rendered in an acute care trauma hospital facility. Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensure the quality and integrity of coding which includes accurate determination of principal diagnosis, secondary diagnoses, primary procedure, and secondary procedures based on all approved documentation in an inpatient record and the appropriate code assignment based on coding conventions
  • Assist in maintaining acceptable levels in accounts receivable based on predetermined HIM indicators
  • Contribute to the general efficiency of the section and the Department
  • Support the Mission and Core Values of Kforce and show your commitment to deliver a level of service that exceeds all personal expectations
  • Adhere to Hospital Policies and Procedures
  • Compensation is $21 - $28/hr, dependent upon experience and expertise


Inpatient Lead Coder Qualifications:
  • Previous strong acute care inpatient and/or outpatient coding experience within a large setting
  • Minimum 3 years of acute care inpatient and/or outpatient coding experience
  • CCS (AHIMA) coding certification or equivalent (RHIA, RHIT, CPC-H, etc.)
  • Extensive knowledge of ICD-9-CM coding conventions, medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, federal regulations, and policies pertaining to documentation and billing
