Job Description
SKILLS REQUIRED:
• B.S. degree.
• CPM (ISM) or CPIM (APICS) certification is preferable.
• ERP experience, preferably SAP.
• 7-12 years experience purchasing in an OEM environment.
• Project Management skills with New Product Development.
• STRONG negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Demonstrated self-initiative in previous positions with strong Customer Service focus.
• Articulate in writing and verbally.
• Dynamic thinker with “Outside the box”, assertive mindset.
• Knowledge of Procurement “Best Practices” gained from previous tenures in a Procurement role.
• High degree of organization, accuracy, and concentration on priority deadlines in assigned tasks.
• Experience in qualifying new sources of material supply, especially international vendors from low-cost countries (ie China, India, Mexico).
• Securing agreement and validating cost saving measures with vendors.
• Experience in use of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Project Manager, Visio, and Outlook.
• Able to travel 25% Travel without restriction - domestic and international.
• Flexible on working hours within a work week, puts emphasis on business needs.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Executes the most complex buying strategies to purchase and arrange timely deliveries of supplies and materials; expedites as needed and serves as liaison between vendors and internal Customers/users.
• Designs project plans and purchasing systems to execute new product introduction and coordinate deliveries and develop cost management tools.
• Reviews and analyzes requisitions and supply plans for domestic and international purchases.
• Leads negotiations of prices, terms and quality requirements for contractual engagements between the organization and suppliers.
• Develops requests for quotation.
• Evaluates market conditions for assigned commodities and purchased product lines.
• Leads value analysis studies of manufactured or assembled product to identify cost improvement potential.
• Develops cost saving proposals including make-versus-buy analysis, alternative sourcing and vendor evaluation criteria.
• Performs leading-edge duties in support of the Procurement Team. Preempts potential problems in cost, delivery, and quality and provides effective solutions in reaction to application of concepts, techniques, knowledge, or processes. Displays original thinking in applying principles, theories, or concepts on a wide range of issues lent to material supply and price negotiations.
• Successfully serves as the point of authority and/or source of technical/scientific knowledge for assigned area of work within the Procurement Team.
• Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of the organization’s business practices and issues faced and contributes to problem resolution of those issues.
• Mentors and develops other Procurement Team members in complex subjects.
• Acts as an advisor to Siemens Top Management and business partners on advanced technical matters. Represents the company as the primary external contact for Procurement.
