The Department Supervisor is an hourly, entry-level position.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Supervises, manages and executes key night processes that support driving sales and profit by delivering excellent customer service and running a clean, well-maintained, efficient store. Supports and ensures proper training for all new hires. Drives and provides on-the-job training and coaches on company programs, standards and expectations. Provides assistance to Assistant Managers and the Store Manager on special recovery project completion. Supervises all evening operations and hourly associates.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure customer service needs are met.
• Take initiative to answer customer service calls.
• Serve as floor supervisor to ensure customer service levels are consistently maintained.
• Provide prompt, courteous and accurate customer service at the point of sale, returns and exchanges.
• Carries store keys and completes Closing Store Checklist on a nightly basis.
• Communicate area assignments to other associates.
• Document assignments in writing and ensure assignments are timely and complete.
• Recruit, develop, retain and motivate associates through training, communication and continuous feedback.
• Manage associate performance in partnership with other members of store management.
• Assess, write and deliver introductory, mid-year and annual performance evaluations.
• Maintains a safe working environment and takes personal responsibility to communicate facility maintenance issues.
• Communicates and partners with Loss Prevention on any dishonest activity, including internal and external theft.
• Communicates with Store Support on technology issues as necessary and assists in proper maintenance of store equipment.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• High School diploma.
• One year retail experience.
• Detail oriented.
• Demonstration of sound leadership skills.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
• The initiative to make decisions.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.
