Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical Educator - Simulation 66868


Overview:

Join our team as a RN Clinical Educator for the Simulation Team responsible for educating our clinical staff utilizing simulation equipment. Initially, this position will require traveling to our Western Region facilities, with most of your time will be spent at our medical centers in Loveland and Greeley. Coming soon is our million-dollar, simulation and education center providing Banner Health's Western Region health care providers high-tech training not available elsewhere in the region. The 3,000-square-foot Banner Simulation Center will be located at McKee Medical Center in Loveland, Colorado. It will give physicians, nurses and other health care professionals the chance to perfect clinical skills in a safe, but realistic environment - without touching a single patient. The center will encompass state-of-the-art training bays, multiple mannequins - or patient training simulators - debriefing rooms and a conference room with teleconferencing capabilities. This virtual hospital within a hospital will provide safe-training environments for new-graduate nurses as well as members of the current nursing and physician staff.

With close views of the Rocky Mountains, and a short drive from Denver, Boulder, and Fort Collins, Loveland is a growing town of 60,000 with an enviable location and an award-winning quality of life. Responsibilities:

Functioning under ANA scope of practice for Development Professionals, the position offers the unique challenge to blend core content across a six state region that includes 11 hospitals, both rural and urban and with over 5000 committed clinical staff. Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • RN and BSN required or RN with Bachelor degree in health care related field.
  • BLS Certification.
  • 3 to 5 years work experience in Nursing Education or educational equivalent required.
  • At least two years in a position with primary responsibility for design and delivery of learning programs for adult learners with a preference in Simulation.
  • Working knowledge of ancillary and support department responsibilities.
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation and computer technology skills, strong organization and communication skills and the ability to take initiative, solve problems and improve processes.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree preferred in health care or related area with an education focus or course work towards a Master's degree with planned completion date.
  • Demonstration of learning principles and use of multiple modalities, both traditional and non-traditional required.
  • 3 years of clinical experience in Simulation preferred.
  • Development, delivery and evaluation of education programs and projects related to the Simulation.
