Quantitative Software Developer/Analyst: Resource Strategies/Logisource

A Major Energy Supply and Marketing company is looking for a Quantitative Software Developer/Analyst. The individual will:

• Provide software development, analytical, and data modeling capabilities in support of a commodity trading desk
• Participate in a team environment developing software solutions involving data manipulation and analytical modeling
• Proficiency in implementing analytical models in software
• Proficiency in organizing and manipulating large quantities of data in analytical processes
• Work with traders and others in an agile development environment to define, capture, implement and verify requirements
• Provide recommendations on how to improve existing processes and systems
• Bring specialized skills with quantitative develop techniques and tools to the organization
• Perform unit, regression, and systems testing of data intensive software systems
• Provide support for existing solutions
• Identify problems, assess alternatives, and apply the best solution

Requirements

Required:

· 5+ years experience as a programmer/analyst

· 5+ years experience with object oriented programming languages, particularly C++, Java, C#

· 5+ years experience with database programming

· 5+ years developing RDBMS client/server applications

Preferred:

· Strong math aptitude

· Development and support of trading and/or analytical systems

· Experience with component based software development

· Understanding of UML and software design patterns

· Experience with object-oriented software development life cycle methodology

· C++, .NET and/or Java

· MATLAB and/or SPLUS

Education Required:

· Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math, or 5+ years of equivalent experience

Education Preferred:

· Training in financial mathematics and/or statistical analysis a plus.
