Treatment Nurse - Grapevine, TX: TRISUN Healthcare

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned

· Responsible for weekly skin assessments of all residents on shower days or validates skin sheets completed by CNA’s.

· Completes proper documentation adhering to company policy and procedure.

· Responsible for Braden assessments upon admission, quarterly, and PRN of all residents.

· Prepares assessment treatment and documentation of all residents with stage 1, 2, 3, or 4 pressure ulcers.

· Responsible for following company wound care protocol.

· Responsible for Stasis/Venus/Arterial ulcers.

· Responsible for management of skin tears, surgical wounds, etc.

· Prepares weekly pressure ulcer documentation for DON and/or Regional Nurse Specialist.

· Completes rotational on call duties as well as floor duties (PRN) and helping with admissions, monthly summaries, and other duties as needed.

· Supervises and evaluates implementation of the “Resident’s Rights”.

· Participates and attends periodic in-services and staff meetings.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Previous wound care training: educational or 2 years hands on.

Two (2) years as a practicing RN or LVN required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Current State of Texas Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse.

Good standing in the state registry is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT: Employee is required to hear, speak, sit, stand, and walk daily. The position is located in healthcare facility environment. Employee may lift up to 40 pounds and transfer 100 plus pounds.

Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability in order to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
