Community Support Specialist: Phoenix House Foundation, Inc.
Provides direct care and supervision of clients in residential treatment. All shifts available.
Phoenix House currently seeks Community Support Specialists ensure compliance with program schedule by providing client supervision in an adult residential treatment facility.
Primary duties include: · Provides client supervision in a safe, therapeutic setting. · Ensures that clients adhere to the day-to-day program schedule. · Monitors and participates in program events and activities. · Conducts and documents room/bed checks to ensure resident safety and presence. Conducts routine facility checks to ensure facility safety and security. · Conducts contraband searches and drug screen analysis administration in accordance with policies and procedures. · Assumes lead duties for shift(s) as assigned. · Provide education seminars to inmates or families, as trained and needed. · Provides safe, timely, and supervised transportation of inmates to off-site appointments or activities as needed. · Supervises clients in the self-administration of medication and documents appropriately, as trained and assigned. · Maintains accurate documentation in staff log, charts, medication log, facility forms, and/or other reports in a timely manner in accordance with policies, procedures and regulations. · Assist with filing, data-entry, chart placement and note preparation. · Participates and facilitates the occurrence of shift change. Ensures that all occurrences/incidents are documented appropriately, facility and cabinets are secure, supplies are stocked for next shift, and that all keys and other property are accounted. · Attends and participates in staff meetings and other meetings as needed. Provides essential information to counseling staff on inmate utilization of concepts, work on treatment plan goals, skill development, etc.
Minimum qualifications include: · High School diploma or equivalent · Good verbal and written communication skills · Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment · Ability to establish and consistently enforce appropriate boundaries with clients · Ability to model positive behavior · Proficiency in MS Office products including effective data entry skills · Good organization skills · At least one year experience working with adults, substance abuse or criminal justice population preferred · Valid Texas drivers’ license and acceptable driving record · Ability to effectively communicate in Spanish and English is preferred
