Manager – Accounting and Consolidations: Asurion Corp.
The Manager – Accounting and Consolidations will fill a key role within the Accounting and Consolidations group. This position is responsible for contributing to the successful delivery of finance and accounting services, including responsibility for financial consolidations and overall financial analysis. The manager will also be instrumental in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting function.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead the monthly consolidations of Asurion Corporation and NEWAsurion.
Support the monthly close process through preparation and review of standard journal entries and detail account analysis.
Prepare and review standard and ad hoc reports for management.
Lead preparation of detail (account-level) financial analysis.
Serve as key liaison for Corporate Accounting for the financial reporting system (Hyperion)
Perform GAAP research and special projects as assigned.
Direct the professional development of direct reports by providing daily direction and guidance, as well as through review of account reconciliations and journal entries.
Enhance the documentation of key internal controls and procedures.
Streamline the monthly close process by identification of best practices and create ideas for process improvements.
Qualifications:
Current CPA certification.
5 to 8 years of professional experience, combination of public accounting and private industry desired.
Strong technical accounting skills and financial systems aptitude. Experience with Hyperion and Microsoft Dynamics AX (formerly Axapta) a plus.
Proficiency with Excel.
Exceptional problem solving skills, attention to details, organized, and results oriented.
Strong interpersonal skills, effective verbal and written communications, change agent for process improvement.
