Current Need
Delivery of Instruction - Product, implementation methodology and other supporting training
* Responsible for conducting software-related training sessions to customers and employees, utilizing generally accepted adult education principles to attain pre-determined learning objectives. Technical courses and material may deal with complex situations including cross-product instruction.
* Instruction will include:
- Implementation project team education ("core" implementation classes, including but not limited to application and file-build training) for both customers and employees.
- Implementation project methodology for employees.
- Any other training deemed necessary to support employees in effectively working with customers, managing implementations or ensuring customer satisfaction.
* Education will be provided at McKesson locations, customer locations, and online through virtual classroom environments.
* Instruction may be delivered in a variety of media to include physical and virtual classroom environments, such as synchronous and asynchronous distance learning, webinars, and virtual student coaching.
* Responsible for administering learning assessments, including performance assessments and certification, as applicable.
* Assist in cross-training current and new Education employees, as requested.
* Must meet departmental expectations for customer satisfaction and training evaluation ratings.
Product Knowledge and Interdisciplinary Departmental Support
* Responsible for maintaining knowledge on product functionality and industry trends.
* Work with Software Development to learn the current and proposed functionality for their product set.
- Identify and communicate opportunities for process and quality improvements, as well as provide feedback on real-world usage, defects, and suggested enhancements.
- Interface with software engineers, programmers and technical support staff to report and assist in defect resolution.
- Work with internal Product Beta Teams in an advisory SME role, to assist in moving software to a GA state in a timely manner.
* Work with the PMO to learn the prescribed implementation methodology for their product set. Provide feedback as appropriate. Maintain knowledge of current implementation methodologies.
* Cross-train within related product families to expand product knowledge and potential course load.
* Interface as required with Implementation Services, PMO staff, Support, Software Development, Training Project Managers, other Education staff, and others to meet or exceed customer education goals and deliver exemplary customer satisfaction.
Training Development Support - Acting as Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Act as a product or function Subject Matter Expert (SME) to assist in training development, including:
* Work with internal and external staff to develop training that accurately reflects product functionality and usage.
* Convey understanding of appropriate application functionality and functional terminology for clinical or other healthcare management systems.
* Convey understanding of the daily tasks and prescribed workflow for the roles for which training is being developed.
* Identify content to be included in the training and the appropriate delivery method to achieve the learning objectives and support client adoption of software.
* Build and maintain applications and data to support training scenarios used for creation of training materials including WBT, job aides, and course materials.
* Know, or quickly learn, Microsoft Word and its Track Changes and Comments features.
* Provide feedback and sign-off on job-task inventories, detailed content outlines, storyboards, courseware, prerequisites and overall curricula requirements.
* Agree to the level of effort required throughout course development cycle and commit to meet project deadlines.
Educational Infrastructure Support
* Participate in Education department server and product upgrades, including file build, file build maintenance and updates, and testing new functionality as required to maintain and teach both product and implementation methodology courses.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Training:
* Bachelor's degree with preferred emphasis in healthcare software implementation, electronic medical records, software education (training delivery or instructional design), or an emphasis in business, project management, software, or other commensurate experience in healthcare services.
Business Experience:
* 6+ years healthcare technical training (software/IT), healthcare software product implementation and/or support, healthcare IT management, the appropriate functional healthcare experience (clinical, revenue cycle, resource management, etc.), and/or healthcare IT consulting experience
* General understanding of adult education principles.
* For clinical positions, the appropriate clinical education experience is required.
* Strong teaching and facilitation skills preferred, in physical and/or virtual classrooms.
* Experience in a healthcare setting and/or technical training, strongly preferred.
* Software implementation experience strongly preferred.
* Experience with McKesson software products strongly preferred.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
