PRODUCTION MANAGER

Liquid Container L.P. is a growth oriented national multi-plant manufacturer of custom and stock plastic containers. We have an opportunity for an experienced Production Manager in our manufacturing facility located in West Chicago , IL .

The Production Manager is responsible for managing the production activities within the facility through the use of continuous improvement techniques. The Production Manager is expected to have a direct impact on safety initiatives, quality performance and operational improvements on a daily basis. In addition, the Production Manager oversees the Production Supervisors and assigned personnel in the production department, including hiring, performing reviews, recognition, disciplinary actions and addressing employee concerns.

Specific Duties May Include:

• Understand and follow all plant safety guidelines, including safe lifting practices (ergonomics) and safe machine operation.

• Plan and execute production schedule to satisfy customer service in respect to time, cost and quality.

• Select, train and develop shift and staff personnel to attain production department goals.

• Develop new methods and procedures to optimize manufacturing efficiency, maximize labor utilization and reduce operating costs.

• Exercise direct control over the safety and housekeeping program through subordinates to maintain an accident preventative attitude among all employees in order to eliminate accidents.

The ideal candidate should possess:

• A minimum of 10 years experience in a Production Management role in a manufacturing environment. (Plastics experience a plus)

• Bachelors degree in Operations Management, Business, Engineering or related field is required. (Masters degree a plus)

• Strong leadership abilities to motivate and guide employee development.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.

• Proven Lean and/or Continuous Improvement experience.
