Store Manager – Bilingual Spanish

La Michoacana Meat Market is currently seeking a Store Manager to join our team in Brownsville, Texas. The Store Manager will ensure efficient operations of the store to meet business objectives and customer needs.

About Us

La Michoacana Meat Market was founded in February of 1986 in the city of Houston . This chain of Latin supermarkets was founded by a Mexican family with the idea of a Mexican company to serve all Hispanics. La Michoacana Meat Market has grown rapidly throughout the years. La Michoacana Meat Market can now be found throughout the majority of Texas especially in its bigger cities such as Houston , Dallas , San Antonio , and Austin . With almost 100 stores as of 2007, La Michoacana Meat keeps growing year after year.

Responsibilities

Customer Expectations:

· Handle and resolve customer complaints in a positive, calm, and tactful manner

· Ensure that all Federal, State, and Company regulations and standards for product freshness food safety, refrigeration, and sanitation are met

· Ensure facility and equipment are properly maintained to ensure product integrity and employee safety

· Ensures appropriate inventory levels

· Maintain positive work environment

· Provide accurate, timely, and honest feedback to others about their performance

Operating Expectations:

· Ensure SOP compliance in every department

· Utilize best practices to achieve total store productivity

· Share in the responsibility for total store contribution

Leadership Expectations:

· Communicates new initiatives

· Provide direction, guidance, or advice to ensure others complete assignments

· Develops and promotes others

· Fosters teamwork by encouraging people to work together

· Communicates employee concerns to upper management when appropriate

Requirements

Education/Experience

· High school or equivalent

· 3 to 5 years of management experience in a grocery or retail environment

Skills

· Must be fluent in Spanish

· Demonstrated ability to lead people and manage teams

· Ability to plan and forecast over one to two year time span

· Problem analysis and problem solution at both strategic and functional level

· Strong customer service orientation

· Strong negotiation skills

· Knowledge of baking, meat cutting, and/or restaurants

· Proficient computer user, with experience using email, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word
