Lab Technician



1) Company Overview:

We are a growing company specializing in water treatment chemicals. The Company was established in 1954 and grew to take its place as the second largest bleach and chlorine repackager in the United States . We currently have seven domestic plants and two foreign facilities enabling us to service 24 states and 24 Caribbean and Central American countries. 2) Job Summary:

Maintain and operate lab equipment to provide accurate data for the operation of the plant processes, provide quality data such as COA’s for finished products, and input data into plant computer system.

3) Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

-Report accurate data to operating personnel and quality data for plant products.

-Entering data into a computer system, such as excel.

-Assist other disciplines in the plant as required.

-Willing to work overtime and adapt to flexible work schedules (shift work).

4) Knowledge and Competency Requirements:

-Responsible attitude for personal safety and the safety of co-workers, contractors, and the public.

-Self starter and ability to self-direct work.

-Knowledge of lab equipment set-up, calibration, and basic maintenance. Includes balances, titrators, spectrophotometers, gas chromatographs, turbidimeters, etc.

-Knowledge of lab techniques.

-Able to understand and interpret data generated.

-Knowledge of sample collection techniques.

-Good communication and interpersonal skills.

-Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.

-Team oriented, flexible and able to work with minimal supervision.

5 ) Education and/or Experience:

-High school diploma or equivalent required.

-One year college level basic chemistry required.

6) Physical Demands:

-Must be able to lift up to and including 50 pounds

-Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment

-Must be able to climb stairs, up to 25 steps, multiple and numerous times per shift

-Must be able to climb a ladder up to 20 feet as needed

-Must be able to turn valves, pushing and pulling them into the open and close position multiple and numerous times per shift

-Must be able to work in conditions exceeding the ambient air temperature by approximately 30 degrees F

-Must be able to work in an environment with an electromagnetic field
