Job Description:

The overall function of an HIM clinic specialist is to maintain medical records in such a way that they are complete and available for ongoing care of patients. This occurs in both the paper and electronic medical record. Maintains and updates accurate medical record locations in chart tracking system. Under direction, perform duties relating to convert/combined Far West and Pediatric charts/loose papers, NAMC hospital documents and special projects. As a member of the total patient care team, the medical record specialist must work cooperatively and effectively to meet the organizational work standards.
