Building Activities Attendant: Southwest Tennessee Community College

This is a full-time support position working under general supervision of the Director of Athletics department. The Building Activities Attendant is responsible for monitoring patrons' athletic facilities use to ensure that the college rules and regulations are followed, and safety and order are maintained. He/she must be flexible to work some weekend, evening, and holiday if and when deemed necessary.

Essential Job Functions:

• Answers the telephone, maintains attendance records and monitors assigned area;
• Arranges room set-up for sporting events, concerts, recitals, meetings, etc., and/or assures setups are complete;
• Monitors activities of the gymnasium to ensure participants abide by college rules and regulations;
• Works proactively with patrons to prevent disturbances;
• Sets up equipment assigned to the gymnasium;
• Ensures all possible safety measures are observed;
• Reports any issues and/or concerns to a supervisor or management staff;
• Responds and reports emergency situations as required and maintains accurate accident and incident reports;
• Maintains building security and enforces building rules and regulations;
• Contacts Campus Police in case of emergency;
• Supervises student employees;
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED with background of demonstrated ability to work with large variety of the public.
• Some experience working as Building Activities Attendant or related area.
• Knowledge of managing attendant records.
• Skill in effective communication.
• Ability to move equipment and oversee activities and events.
• Ability to plan and organize work.
• Ability to receive instructions and follow through with them.
• Ability to attend to detail.
• Ability to tolerate loud noises.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb stairs, and stoop.
• Ability to lift equipment and objects weighing up to forty (40) pounds.
• A background check will be required for the successful candidate.

Salary: $22,488.00 – Minimum
