Occupational Therapist - (FT, Days): Clear Lake Regional Medical Center
Evaluates and treats patients to obtain optimal level of function whose ability to perform activities of daily living is impaired by developmental deficits, the aging process, environmental deprivation and psychological or physical dysfunction's. The department will meet age specific needs of neonatal (0-4 wks.), infant (1 mo. - 12 mos.), child (1 yr. - 12 yrs.), adolescent (13 yrs. - 18 yrs.), adult (18 yrs. - 64 yrs.), and geriatric (greater than 64 yrs.) population.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES : E Evaluates, supervises and instructs patients in the following areas: physical dysfunction, prosthetic/orthotic use, functional mobility, activities of daily living, cognitive; perceptual retraining, sensory integration and community re-integration utilizing treatment procedures correctly and appropriately in accordance with treatment plans while maintaining confidentiality of all pertinent patient care information to assure patient's rights are protected. E Assesses need for orthotic/prosthetic devices and fabricated orthotic and adaptive devices as needed. E Reports to Director patient-care management problems, equipment needs and maintenance requirements. E Co-signs all students' notes and every COTA note. Coordinates patient's treatment with other health care professionals where appropriate. E Plans individual patient schedule and maintains daily attendance record. Charges for patient treatment on a daily basis in approved manner. E Maintains daily progress notes including daily attendance record, status notes, evaluation and discharge summaries and documented home programs. E Demonstrates compliance with department and hospital Policies & Procedures while displaying cooperative and constructive attitude in intradepartmental and interdepartmental relationships. E Actively engages in learning and continuing education for self-improvement and professional growth. Attends and participates in staff meetings/Inservice. Participates in interdisciplinary conferences and reports with/to disciplines on patient's progress and discharge planning. E Assists Director in revising, developing department Policy & Procedures, fulfilling department Performance Improvement and other duties assigned. E Shares and promotes the hospital's Mission, Vision and Values: supports the Ethics and Compliance Program POSITION REQUIREMENTS : Experience: One or more years as a Licensed Occupational Therapist preferred. New graduates of approved school acceptable. Education : Graduate of an American Occupational Therapy Assn. approved school of Occupational therapy with a Bachelor of Science
