Manufacturing Associate I: Becton Dickinson & Company (BD)
The Manufacturing Associate 1 has general responsibility to support the day to day operation of the manufacturing lines and assist the technicians operating the equipment. Prior experience is desired with pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. He/She will perform their work in a cGMP consistent manner. The associate must be able to work both independently and as a team member and actively communicate with others to include workplace teams. He/she must be willing to participate in work place continuous improvement projects. The associate must be fluent in English and able to read/comprehend documents written in English. For inspection purposes he/she must successfully complete vision testing, with or without corrective lenses. Must be able to complete job certification courses and appropriate background checks. Must be able to follow all safety procedures and promote safe work practices. Other duties as assigned
Daily duties/responsibilities: 1. Manually/visually inspect product and be able to identify defects 2. Complete controlled documents/paperwork in an effective manor with few errors 3. Pack product/boxes/cases 4. Assist line equipment operators in maintaining, running, changing over the equipment 5. Tend equipment and clear jams, load commodities, move materials, and remove trash 6. Verify process steps are completed correctly in appropriate batch records 7. Read, understand, and follow standard operating procedures 8. Clean equipment, floors, and walls 9. Must be willing and capable of training new employees 10. Must be willing to work multiple shifts 11. Must be willing to change start/stop times to support operational needs 12. Must be able to work around potentially hazardous materials/chemicals used to clean areas 13. Must be able to wear all personal protective equipment/uniforms required in job 14. Able to work around potentially hazardous energy sources (compressed air, electricity, steam, etc.) 15. Other duties as assigned by Area Management Required Skills and Knowledge - High School Diploma with a minimum of 2 years of work experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. Medium-Heavy work; exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 35 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. This individual must be willing to work multiple shifts as needed to facilitate cross training. Technical Area of Expertise - Assist manufacturing in supporting the day to day task needed to complete the filling, Inspection, sterilizing and packaging of pharmaceutical products.
