Position Profile
Scripps Health was recently named #59 on Fortune Top 100 Companies to work for. Scripps Memorial La Jolla is a 300 bed facility with a Level 2 Trauma Center. As the first Magnet Hospital in San Diego, Scripps La Jolla strives to be the premier medical center for more than 80 years. On top of the Level II Trauma Center & 24 hour emergency services, Scripps La Jolla offers a wide range of medical and surgical services in intensive care, interventional cardiology & radiology, radiation oncology, cardiothoracic and orthopedic services, neurology, bariatric surgery, and women's health services.

The Supervisor, Health Info, empowers, facilitates, assists and educates Health Information Services staff with the day-to-day operations and activities related to areas of record maintenance, release of information, chart completion, and chart analysis. Ensures adherence to facility and systemwide policies and procedures, as well as, external regulatory agency requirements. Serves as a resource for facility personnel in areas of record retention, data collection, release of information and record keeping procedures.

Basic Qualifications (required)
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information, Business Administration, or related field.

Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) as well as Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).

Preferred Qualifications
Three (3) years in a Health Information Management Department, preferably in an acute-care setting.

Supervisory experience preferred. Experience required with DRG reimbursement, discharge processing and automated systems.

Must possess strong analytical and organizational skills. Must possess a high level of interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all levels of hospital personnel, physicians and external contacts.
