PowerBuilder Technical Consultant
Overview:
Our client is a leading software technology firm offering some of today's most sophisticated supply and trade management solutions for global energy companies. More than 30 of the major energy companies use their products.
We are currently seeking skilled consultants for their Professional Services group to assist with major Implementation efforts. Consultants generally work at a client site, collaborating with many professionals, both internally and externally to deliver successful product implementation. There will be domestic travel with the opportunity for overseas assignments.
The typical project consists of these four phases:
- Sales Hand-Off Phase
- Planning/Design Phase
- Configuration/Implementation Phase
- Go-live/Transition
Education:
- Bachelor Degree from University is required
Experience:
- Hands on experience working for Energy Companies concerned with Crude Oil, Refined Products, Natural Gas Liquids, Natural Gas, or Coal are desired.
- Needs experience implementing Enterprise Trade Management Systems with/for Energy Companies are desired.
- Specific experience working for Software Companies that provide Enterprise Trade Management Systems are desired.
- Candidates with prior software development experience are desired.
- The ability to develop using Powebuilder 9.0.
- The ability to write Transact SQL.
- The ability to develop using COM.
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2000.
Competencies:
- The ability to interact closely with a variety of people. At a client site, the consultant can expect to interact with varying business professionals including, accountants, IT professionals, traders, schedulers, Risk Management Analysts, etc. The consultant's work environment will consist of varying levels of interaction and communication with other people both internally and at the client site.
- The ability to work independently once assigned tasks. This individual will be required to complete tasks with minimal supervision and have the ability to work under some pressure, usually associated with time. They must be able to follow logical, outlined steps in order to reach pass/fail conclusions.
- The ability to mentor and teach internal and client developers the data model and infrastructure.
- The ability to handle multiple tasks at one time, with varying and ever changing levels of priority.
- The ability to created detailed design document for custom technical items.
