General Summary: This position performs ongoing interviews of department managers throughout the Oregon Region to identify privacy risks, provide possible solutions, escalate issues as appropriate and develop relationships of cooperation. Works closely with Regional Quality Management Departments to ensure coordination of efforts between HIM and QM in this area. Develops and maintains orientation, training and quality control systems for site based HIM staff. Acts as coordinator and/or project manager for Regional HIM functional groups for process improvement and workflow. Works closely with the MSO in development and maintenance of the physician chart deficiency and completion processes for the State. Supervises HIM Specialists responsible for completion of physician documentation process in four hospitals. Supervises Release of Patient Healthcare Information and other HIM Compliance functions.
Required: RHIT plus 5 HIM years experience in a hospital setting. High level understanding of hospital processes; JACHO,HIPAA and State regulatory.
