Position Description:
The Data Analytics Analyst supports the day-to-day management of the Distribution Operations systems and provides the planning, guidance and development of code used to extract data for operational intelligence. This function uses statistical and inferential analysis to provide specialized data analysis. The analyst works with Enterprise Reporting, Clients, Sales, Desktop Administration and other internal organization partners to monitor and manage applications, improve processes and increase performance of the organization.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement application metrics; volume, defects, tends, issues and processing performance
- Organize, sort and filter data in order to distinguish patterns and recognize trends for reporting and analysis
- Measure and evaluate areas and activities related to productivity and effort
- Assist in creating operational extracts from the front line application databases
- Develop statistics and work with management to develop and implement successful solutions by identifying areas that warrant further analysis
- Provide data and statistics in the development of CBAs for project justifications of system projects or non-system projects
- Develop work measurements, production methods and standards
- Develop and maintain data preparation and audit/validation routines to support system performance
- Work with Enterprise Reporting and IT to create a data warehouse/marts and/or develop data mining analysis to support business decisions
- Collaborate with management to identify root cause problems with applications, including comprehensive process documentation
- Develop, track and implement recommendations for process improvement that increase quality, service and productivity
- Work with functional management teams to research and resolve issues in addition to coordinating efforts with other functional teams
- SQL programming experience
Qualifications Qualifications:
- 5+ years - data reporting experience
- 3+ years - systems analysis and measurement experience
- 2+ years - leadership experience (leading a functional or segmented team)
- 2+ years experience in MS Office Suite Excel and Access extracting data
- 2+ years SQL experience
Assets:
- Sales or lead management systems experience (Siebel or Oracle)
- Process improvement experience
- Experience in diagramming process flowcharts
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
