POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The Scott and Laura Eller Congenital Heart Center of the Heart and Lung Institute at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona has an opportunity for a pediatric cardiac sonographer to work with a Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.
The sonographers will be joining a Pediatric and Fetal Non-Invasive Laboratory. All images are digitally archived. There is great opportunity to experience imaging a broad spectrum of congenital and acquired heart defects, from simple to complex. The Laboratory performs all aspects of ultrasound imaging - transthoracic, transesophageal, fetal, intracardiac, and stress. Ample opportunity for participation in echocardiography research and education is available.
Performs ECHO procedures, compiling data for physician interpretation. Performs procedures requiring independent judgement/initiative. Assists with schedules & peer performance evaluations. Assists with evaluation of equipment/procedures. Participates in department QA program and accreditation.
CALL REQUIRED
- Certified from a AMA program in Cardiac Echo Sonography
- Two years ECHO experience
- Registered with ARDMS and one other subspecialty such as Vascular Ultrasound
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiovascular Sonographer (RDCS)or RCVT in Peds
Performs pediatric echocardiograms. Advises cardiologists of results of examination and provides preliminary diagnostic evaluation.
