Location based in Billerica, MA, reporting to Manager of Project Management, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading projects for new product development as well as manufacturing projects for disposable plastic laboratory products. Managing projects based on the established Global Product Development System utilizing cross functional teams focused on delivery of new and existing products. Develop project plans using Microsoft Project. Responsibilities include monitoring the project performance from initiation through delivery, including project close out, using project management software tools. When required organizes interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of project/product on schedule and within budget constraints. The candidate will provide essential input on technical decisions affecting the project and/or product development. Responsibilities also include product launch, with customer follow-through for the establishment of product performance criteria. 10- 15 % travel is required. Overall responsibility includes management of assigned projects and leading the cross functional team through the product development life cycle, driving tasks to completions, establishing and meeting project plan and milestone commitments.
o Lead and guide the project planning function for developing product specification, business case development and high level budget. o Ensure all projects follow the established Global Product Development System o Develop communications plan to ensure all stakeholders are informed of project status o Determine and evaluate project risks, utilizing cross functional team o Provides leadership in resolving conflicts between cross functional team members and technical issues during the product life cycle development process. o Provides project management expertise guidance and instruction to cross functional core team members throughout all aspect of product life cycle process, project initiation planning, design, verification, validation, product launch o Continue pursuit of project management excellence and engineering knowledge through seminars and other professional training courses. o Manage virtual teams located at multiple sites o Interact effectively with external stakeholders(vendors/customers) and internal stakeholders (senior management) Bachelors' Degree is required. 3-5 years of demonstrated proficient project management skills and project management software tools. 1-2 years of formal project management experience preferred 5-7 years of new product design and development, specifically in medical plastic product or injection molded products preferred. 1-2 years of past experience managing cross functional team for a new product development project.       |
