Quality Management Assistant
The Quality Management Assistant will perform duties to support all aspects of the OCC Quality Management System to ensure OCC compliance to daily business practices and ISO requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow approved OCC policies, procedures, and work instructions
- Work in high volume team environment with minimal supervision
- Complete required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
- Work with subject matter experts on technical subjects in a positive, collaborative manner to prepare controlled documents which conform to Optical Cable Corporation guidelines and format
- Review and proofread documents for consistency of document format and system concerns
- Use department databases to track and manage and control issued documents
- Effectively follow SOPs, policies, and ISO requirements
- Provide support for the Quality System during corporate audits
- Adhere to and enforce Optical Cable Corporation policies and procedures related to document and data management
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reproduction and distribution of Optical Cable Corporation controlled documents, maintenance of electronic department directories, tracking and reporting on document review progress
- Manage archival activities for controlled documents and data and validation files
- Verify and issue production documents (Standard Operating Procedures) to the manufacturing department
- Update of documents to maintain current revision as directed by the Doc and Data Release Process and the Change Control Process
- Update and maintain control of procedure books throughout all departments of Optical cable Corporation
- Coordinate, collect, update, and maintain the quarterly QMS package for Quarterly Quality Management Reviews
- Assist in creating and formatting documents and data into OCC established document format
- Re-formatting and update of OCC OTDR test data and optical traces to be shipped with the product
- Coordinate and gather test data as requested by Sales to be provided to the OCC customers
- Provide sales order files to Sales/Quality for Customer Complaints/RMA review and analysis

- Excellent oral communication skills required with the ability to speak clearly and distinctly and to project a courteous and helpful attitude to internal and external customers
- Significant organizational skills; ability to pay close attention to details with the ability to complete assignments accurately
- Excellent writing skills with correct grammar and punctuation
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with others in a positive and collaborative manner
- Demonstrated ability to work accurately, read and follow instructions/schedules/timelines and handle multiple priorities with the ability to recognize and help to resolve problems
- Ability to utilize multiple word-processing and database applications including MS Office applications Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat computer skills required with the ability to format professional documents, use basic formulas, importing and graphing functions
- Ability to work in a team environment with minimal direct supervision with flexibility to adapt to changes in priorities
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience with Quality System Documentation and documentation practices
- Knowledge of ISO concepts and guidelines
Education and/or Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent required (college degree preferred)
- 2 years of Document Control or other Quality Assurance-related experience
