Surgical Technician

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the general direction of the Director/Team leader, and the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the OR Scrub Tech sets up and scrubs for all surgical procedures. Implements aseptic techniques and Operating Room protocols as a member of a surgical team. Selects and administers appropriate instruments/supplies, and equipment related to age, developmental level and size of the patient.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma, GED, or Foreign equivalent

Current CPR certification (Issued by American Heart Association or Red Cross provider)

Completed an approved Operating Room Scrub Tech course

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

4 years Operating Room experience

Ability to scrub multiple service cases

3 year progressive scrub experience in generalized procedures

Subspecialty experience in ortho, neuro, cardiac

Experience in a pediatric OR
