Position Summary:

Quickly approaching 200 locations in 18 states, Aspen Dental is looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to oversee all activities in the accounts payable function. The role will be a heavy management / leadership position requiring extensive follow-up, review, and value adding initiatives to accommodate our rapid growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the five member AP team including two supervisors.
  • Manage the timely and accurate completion of invoice processing and verification, expense coding, and drafting of checks according to terms and discounts.
  • Implement new process improvements to improve overall effectiveness and accuracy of the AP function.
  • Leverage and maximize the capabilities of the accounting system by developing and implementing new policy and procedural recommendations.
  • Develop and distribute regular reporting around the entire accounts payable function; recommending cost reduction opportunities.
  • Training and developing staff.
  • Handling necessary communications with the field operations team members.
  • Independently managing projects to completion; and benchmarking functional and industry best practices/trends.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting is preferred.
  • 5+ years of strong AP management experience.
  • Candidates must have very strong management, leadership, and analytical skills.
  • Candidates should have very good written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate both internally and externally.
  • We are searching for a candidate with a high mental aptitude to effectively complete the assigned duties, a strong work ethic, and a great attitude.
  • The ability to adapt to change and work in a fast paced environment is essential to this position.
  • Extensive computer skills and knowledge of MS Office and most notably Excel are required.
