Location: Anywhere Across North America near a major airport

As a Senior Product Specialist/Consultant, the individual will be responsible for driving the design and implementation the company’s products, which offer a revolutionary way to manage core network services. The Professional Services team assists clients and partners in achieving their strategic vision through a successful technology solution implementation and well as product education services. We provide technical and engagement management guidance and deep product subject matter expertise, executing on our engagements with the highest degree of quality and client satisfaction.

As a Senior Consultant, the candidate will work with Pre/Post Sales Engineering and the customer’s staff to design and implement the proposed solution architecture. The candidate will partner with key network engineering and operations staff and management, to design a solution which meets the function, security, and operational requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong networking background, be a Subject Matter Expert on the product set, have excellent technical communication skills, along with experience in effectively and expeditiously facilitating a complex solution design. A strong background in project management, conflict resolution skills, and experience navigating around common technology implementation pitfalls is required.

The ideal candidate for this position should have:

In-depth knowledge of: MS and LINUX/UNIX operating systems/networks, Client, Internet & network technologies (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, IPAM, SNMP, FTP, etc.…)

Basic scripting capabilities (Perl, shell), Java, VB, etc…); advanced scripting skills are preferred

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience developing and implementing large enterprise network services solutions

Proven ability to lead teams and manage projects

4 to 6 years of progressive technology professional services experience

Strong project management, communications, technical planning, and leadership skills, particularly with project and cross-functional teams

Ability to think quickly and take risks commensurate with responsibility

Ability to work with all levels of management and technical support to further the goals of the engagement

Experience in building relationships to further the goals of the engagement

Used to working in high-pressure client-environments with aggressive deadlines

Quick learner, able to implement new technologies or processes in demanding, changing environments, and establishing realistic yet aggressive timelines

Comfortable working with unproven/challenging new concepts

Desire to learn new and different approaches

Excellent problem-solving, analytical and time-management skills

High level of initiative and decisiveness

Self motivated individual who works without direct supervision and pursues goals with tenacity and creativity

Exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results

Evening and weekend work required on occasion

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide technical post-sales design and implementation services

Function as the key technical resource in the development and implementation of network design, architecture, and operational usage of the solution

Support fellow employees (pre-sales engineers, implementation resources, and partner consultants) on their projects

Provide subject matter expertise during project definition phase as needed.

Provide regular feedback to customer and company project team on the progress and status of active projects.

Develop final reports for each project, capturing the solution design and system settings implemented

Develop & document consulting methodologies & best practices.

Mentor newer consultants within the team in developing stronger consulting skills.

Assume leadership on engagements and work without direct supervision, interfacing with customer IT and business-function leaders

Provide critical feedback to Product Management and Engineering Teams

Desirable Skills:

Demonstrate initiative, creativity, and problem solving skills

Disciplined, self-motivated and detail oriented team player

Post secondary or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

8-10+ years networking experience or equivalent

Technical writing skills (white-papers, technical articles, solution design documents)

Excellent communication skills and strong project management acumen.

Comfortable presenting project outline and status to key decision makers at the staff and senior management level

US Citizens with security clearance preferred

Compensation: USD$110,000 base salary + $10K bonus and stock options
