Raytheon Missile Systems -- Louisville (RMS-L) Operations team is searching for a qualified Tech Support Engineering candidate to join one of the Integrated Product Teams to support with production, test and systems integration at the Raytheon Missile Systems Louisville, KY facility. A 2007 North American Shingo Prize recipient, the RMS Louisville facility is responsible for new manufacture and overhaul on the Phalanx, Land-Based Phalanx, RAM, and SeaRAM weapon systems and Silent Guardian system.





Job Description




The Ideal candidate will have a Bachelors degree and 2 years technical production support or 10 years experience on the PHALANX weapons system. This position will primarily support production with regard to assembly and modifications of the PHALANX system and components. This includes areas of: manufacturing, refurbishment and testing at the sub assembly as well as the weapons system level. In addition the job supports engineering and production in an integrated product team environment and performs activities in a variety of cross-functional areas including test engineering, design engineering, procurement, planning and quality. This job will require frequent contact with internal and external customers, presentations to the customer and team members, and support higher level meetings so project management skills are a must. In support of the production schedule, this position is often required to work extended hours and overtime, and has a field work component which requires international and domestic travel 10% of the time.




Required Skills

- Production related experience in manufacturing and or overhaul and test of electronic and or mechanical assemblies on PHALANX weapons system

- Ability to identify and trouble shoot system level components

- Experience with reading schematics and technical drawings

- Ability to intrepret information and convey message to different levels within the team

- Willingness to learn and take on responsibilities that may fall outside of job scope

- Proactive, self motivated, strong work ethic

- Adaptive problem solving skills

- Computer aptitude in the following applications; MS Office Suite

- Ability to develop and understand production process and performance metrics

- Ability to obtain a security clearance

- Strong oral and written communication skills

- Ability to work 3rd shift if needed

- Project management / teaming experience/ Presentation skills

- Possess excellent leadership skills






Desired Skills

- Working knowledge of Louisville MRP system

- Knowledge of other production software, IPDS, PRISM, SAP, MS project and PDM

- Experience using lean manufacturing concepts to include but not limited to;

o value-stream mapping

o standard work

o 7S

o poka yoke


- Understand general workings of a shop floor control management system

- Willing to travel at least 10%
