Financial Analyst

Job Description:

BROAD FUNCTION AND SCOPE OF THE POSITION:
Assist Manager(s) Finance or Senior Manager Finance and Sales Team to ensure timely and accurate financial analysis, forecasts, strategic plans and reporting. Monitor and improve trade funds effectiveness through rigorous tracking and surfacing issues/opportunities. Partner with Sales Teams to improve profitability and promotional effectiveness. Provide insightful analysis and recommendations as needed.

PRINCIPAL CONTINUING RESPONSIBILITIES IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE:
Analytical Responsibilities:
• Analysis of Event Level Profitability/ROI (e.g. Hi-Lo events, EDLP/Alliance Programs,
Co-Marketing Programs) - pre and post event
• Provide decision driving insights
• Joint business planning to help both the team and customer meet goals
• Perform volume/mix analysis and identify opportunity areas
• New item introduction payback analysis

Business Review:
• Work with Sales Finance Mgmt & Customer Marketing to ensure reporting (via ATLAS and Cognos) and controls are in place to monitor and project team business results
• Prepare and analyze reports to be used for monthly/quarterly financial reviews with leadership team(s) (Sales, Spend, Profit, ROI, and CTS)
• Lead monthly financial review to include Event performance, Mix analysis and tracking against sales/spend/profit quota
• Consolidate cross Area/Channel reporting as needed
• Manage customer interaction and distribution of payment for National Agreements (as applicable)
• Assist team with improving forecast accuracy (sales/spend)

Organization Development:
• Lead sharing of "Best Practices" across Team and Areas
• Lead cross-functional training sessions as required
• Process Improvement to maximize efficiency

QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: BS in Business Administration or related field is required.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
2-5 years relevant work experience.
CPG experienced preferred.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Experience in Financial Planning and Analysis, Sales Support, and Trade Funds Budget management
• Broad knowledge of consumer products, promotional allowances and charges, customer structure, Trade Funds Management systems
• Systems experience to include: Siebel, Nielsen, Essbase, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
• Some travel required (4-6 times/yr)
