Director of Support Services

Responsible for a 190,000 square foot building situated on 22 acres of property to include overseeing the facility waste treatment plant as well as a six story building serviced by two power sources , 2 generators, and the power plant

Maintain and service utilities (light, heat, air conditioning, power, plumbing and sewage treatment) and provide maintenance necessary for care of these utilities

Direct staff in the day to day performance of their duties relating to outside grounds maintenance, inside facility maintenance, general engineering functions, safety officer duties, communications duties as well as oversight of transportation issues related to the facility

Direct staff in the performance of their day-to-day job functions within housekeeping and laundry services provided by ArchCare at Ferncliff Nursing Home

Maintain and service all equipment within facility laundry ensuring equipment is functioning as needed to provide laundry services to ArchCare at Ferncliff Nursing Home

Coordinate all above with the administrator and all department heads and supervisors to create a safe and comfortable physical environment for Resident, staff, and visitors

High School Diploma or equivalent with either:

1) Engineering Degree (ME or CE options), or

2) Certificate in engineering technology (same options), or

3) May have acquired equivalent training through work experience IN ADDITION TO

evidence of continuing education in the fields of housekeeping and laundry

License Requirements

2A Sewage Treatment Plant License

Valid New York State Drivers License

Asbestos Supervisor

A/C & Refrigeration

OSHA Supervisor
