Calibration Lead Engineer - EO / IR Sensors

In this level 6 lead Engineer position you will serve as our Subject Matter expert in leading calibration activities associated with a variety of electro-optical sensor projects. You will bring your calibration expertise to sensor design, design reviews, and technical reviews, perform analyses, prepare documentation, sensor assembly and test activities, design and lead sensor calibration activities, lead the resolution of technical issues, and develop calibration processes.

Another important aspect of the job will be marketing our capabilities through the generation of whitepapers for detectors and calibration sources, and will involve interactions with customers, NIST, and university teams specializing in sensors.

Basic Qualifications:MS or PhD in engineering, physics, or a physical science. At least 15 years experience with electro-optical sensor instruments and payloads, radiometry, and detectors.

Preferred Experience: Experience with sensor instrument and payload design and development activities, with precision calibration processes for payload instruments, recognized in the field through publications and interactions with NASA and other Customers, and experienced with contractual issues, waiver processes, etc. Excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills. Current DoD Secret clearance and SSBI preferred . Special Note: Less experienced candidates in this area of expertise may be considered for other related positions.
